CFP: Congress 2017 Joint-Panel by CAUTG and CCLA
Congress of the Humanities and Social Sciences
Joint-Panel by Canadian Associate of University Teachers of German (CAUTG) and Canadian Comparative Literature Association (CCLA)
27-30 May 2017 at Ryerson University in Toronto, Canada
In the spirit of the conference theme, “From Far and Wide,” the CAUTG and the CCLA are organizing a joint-panel on the figure of the refugee, past and present. We would like to bring together papers from various cultural and linguistic traditions in order to discuss how literary research can add to the interdisciplinary discourse on forced migration. It is desirable, though not necessary, that papers include German-language texts (from Johann Wolfgang Goethe’s Hermann und Dorothea to Elfriede Jelinek’s Die Schutzbefohlenen).
Your proposal must include: a paper title and an abstract (approx. 200 words)
Please note: You do not have to join an association in order to submit a paper proposal. However, if your paper is accepted, you must join either the CAUTG or the CCLA and register for Congress. To assess the financial costs of doing so, consult the following website: http://congress2017.ca/register/about-fees
Please send your paper proposals to Andrea Speltz (aspeltz@uwaterloo.ca).
