The Masters by Research offers a number of exciting possibilities to students who are interested in postgraduate study. Our Masters by Research is a flexible programme that allows students to undertake in-depth study (both full and part-time) on key areas of literature, visual or cultural studies or comparative topics. We offer a tailor-made research focussed module to equip you with a range of theoretical and historical approaches to the study of literature, art and culture whilst you refine your own approach to your topic for the dissertation. For more information, go to: http://www.rhul.ac.uk/…/prospec…/postgraduatestudy/home.aspx
Eligibility conditions apply. Please note that only candidates who have been offered, and who have accepted, a place to study at Royal Holloway will be considered for any available funding opportunities.
We will consider applications from any area of our research specialisms in French, German, Hispanic Studies or Italian or on comparative topics which might include comparisons between the literature, film or culture of different language areas (including texts in translation) subject to expertise in the School or other comparative topics such as adaptation, reception, interpretation, performance, place and displacement or creative transfer amongst others: (http://www.rhul.ac.uk/mllc/research/home.aspx). Subject to a waiver of regulations, dissertations may be written in languages other than English.
Prospective applicants should contact Dr Sarah Wright (sarah.wright@rhul.ac.uk) as soon as possible who will be able to offer further advice on making an application, the programme, the fee waiver award, and on the range of research themes/topics on which we are able to offer expert supervision.
