Moisan, Blodgett, and Beyond: Rethinking Comparative Canadian Literature in the Twenty-First Century

Abstract

The works of two prominent Canadian comparatists, Clément Moisan and E.D. Blodgett, demonstrate limitations in their ability to address the full scope of this country's literatures. An analysis of the pitfalls of both Moisan's and Blodgett's approaches sheds light on what stands to be gained from a broader ground for comparison, one that relinquishes the need to capture all expressions under the net of a single study.
