Mosaic: a journal for the interdisciplinary study of literature

Two Calls for Submissions

1) Queer/Affect

Mosaic invites innovative, interdisciplinary, literary, and critical papers for a special issue on the potential of queer intervention into affect theory, an issue that will explore non-normative ways of feeling, existing, and relating. We invite papers on topics that might include, but are not limited to: emotion and expression; trauma theory; rewriting histories of feeling; collectivity; the impact of various affective states (shame, paranoia, hope, desire, etc.) on queer subjectivities; affect as methodology; anti-identity and anti- relationality; utopia; homonormativity; queer temporalities; death drive; public and private feeling; affective performativity.

Mosaic now follows an electronic submission process. If you would like to contribute an essay for review, please visit our website for details: www.umanitoba.ca/mosaic/submit. Email any submission questions to mosasub@ad.umanitoba.ca. Submissions must be received by: December 15, 2013.

2) From Page to Screen

Mosaic invites innovative interdisciplinary submissions on the transition-translation- transference between these mediums of cultural production in an increasingly digitalized world. We are interested in essays that take up such topics as: the evolution of textuality; intertextuality; interactive technologies; authorship; new media; digital humanities; hypertext; rewriting and adaptation; textual mediation in non-canonical texts—anything from graphic novels to video games; digital and analog media; between page and screen; multimodality.
